For several weeks each year, one of the trails at Montezuma's Well (part of Montezuma Castle National Monument) is off-limits to visitors. I visited the site to find out how this closure helps protect the Townsend's Big-eared bat population. Originally aired 6/25/21 on Cronkite News (Arizona PBS) |

Snakes vs. Drought
The popular notion that snakebites increase during periods of drought is a myth, according to a 2018 Stanford Medicine study. I spoke with experts in Arizona to find out why, and what you should do (and not do) if you are bitten by a rattlesnake. Originally aired 6/9/21 on Cronkite News (Arizona PBS) |
