"89 Stories" podcast
My Advanced Podcast Production course at ASU required me to produce a pilot episode for a podcast series. My proposed series, "89 Stories," tells the stories of the places, people and history found along U.S. Highway 89. The focus of the pilot episode is "The Force Is With Our People," a temporary exhibit of "Star Wars" art by Native American artists on display at the Museum of Northern Arizona.
The interviews were recorded in early 2020 – some just days before the COVID-19 lockdowns began. As I had to complete the assignment in lockdown, I later re-recorded my narration (and added an updated close) when I had access to better equipment again. (To listen in Spotify, click here.)

Segments:
0:50- The star attraction of the exhibit is "Hopi R2," a full-size, functional R2-D2 unit painted like a piece of Hopi pottery. Hopi R2's creators talk about the challenges of making this masterpiece-on-wheels come to life.
7:56- Geri Hongeva, the voice of C-3PO in the Navajo-dubbed version of "Star Wars: A New Hope," talks about her experience being a part of the first major movie to be translated into any Native American language.
16:28- Exhibit curator Tony Thibodeau expounds on one of the pieces in the exhibit, "(De)Colonized Ewok."

Homebuyer "Love Letters"
A common tactic many homebuyers use to land the house of their dreams can potentially run afoul of fair housing laws. I visited with a Phoenix area couple to talk about the role such a letter played in the successful bid for their new home.
